This is an old video of Motor Trend doing a road test on the 1998 Ford Mustang Saleen S351. The muscle car is making 495 horsepower and 490 foot pounds of torque to the rear wheels. This amount of horsepower was tremendous for the 90s. This is an entire driveline swap, holding a 5.7 liter OHV windsor V8 block. The engine is using custom high flow Saleen heads and a 1993 Cobra intake manifold. To hit the 500 horsepower mark, Saleen implemented a Vortech blower. The Mustang goes 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds for acceleration. While in the 1/4 mile the S351 Saleen Mustang goes 12.8 seconds at 116.7mph. All this doesn't come at a cheap price, back in 1998 this muscle car held a retail price of $56,990. I wonder what this Mustang is worth today?
